Fairway Colombo - Sri Lanka's First Hotel With Robot Technology

had a great stay at Fairway Colombo. The hotel is clean, modern, and well-located, with a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. The staff were absolutely fantastic — warm, professional, and always willing to help. My room was very comfortable, and while breakfast wasn’t exceptional, it was perfectly adequate. For the price, it’s excellent value. A standout feature was the room service, which was quick, easy to use — and delivered by a robot! A fun, futuristic touch that made the experience even more enjoyable. A word of advice for travellers — especially solo ones: Tuk Tuks are an absolutely brilliant way to get around Colombo. They’re cheap, quick, and ideal for navigating the city’s busy streets. However, if you’re approached by drivers on the street — including outside the hotel — expect to be quoted heavily inflated prices, often two to three times what Uber or PickMe charge. When I mentioned the app rate, the price usually dropped to something reasonable, which I initially accepted for convenience. However, during several rides I experienced persistent hard selling — offers to visit “special” shops, go on local tours, and in one case (as a solo male traveller), even an offer to “find me a woman.” Even after politely declining, the pressure continued throughout the journey, making the experience uncomfortable. This wasn’t unique to the hotel — it happened consistently across Colombo. After a few such rides, I stuck to using Uber, which was fast, reliable, great value, and completely hassle-free — and I always tipped well for the excellent service. Overall, Fairway Colombo is a fantastic base for exploring the city. I’d absolutely stay again — just use ride apps to get the best out of Colombo’s brilliant Tuk Tuk experience, and enjoy the bonus of robot-delivered room service!

The location is great being close to the railway station. The room is comfortable, the pillows extremely lovely.

It was a very nice hotel. staff were very friendly. Room was good we had a balcony which made a nice difference, we paid for it but wort while. Bathroom was good, shower nice and powerful. Ben a great size and very clean. Breakfast was very good, theres also a balcony there thats outside, it's a great view but unfortunately smoking is allowed which spoilt the breakfast and atmosphere. There plenty of assistance at reception such as tourist information etc. Location is good and nearby are some good (but very expensive) restaurants. Tea making facilities are there.

Location was great nice places to eat opposite hotel. Room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom newly renovated with good water pressure. Good little gym on site. Would recommend a room with balcony as it was nice to sit out and watch people below. Liked the rooms were serviced and free filtered water provided. Good airport transfer at a reasonable price. Great place to start Sri Lanka holiday.
